We begin the process by creating “as-built” or “existing conditions” measurements and drawings. In this process, we capture the floorplan of your home and property as it is today. The result is a complete set of drafted floorplans and, typically, a 3D model that will serve as the underlay for next phases. Next, we take you through iterative schematic design concepts until we have narrowed down the right scope of work. We’ll use these drawings and this information to work with an engineer, to get estimates from one or more builders, and to hone in on what will actually get built. Then, it’s through to permitting and construction with gentle guidance and clear explanations every step of the way. We know that these projects can be stressful, expensive, and confusing! Our goal is always clarity and, of course, excitement for future enjoyment of much-improved spaces.

We sought out PDX Additions (Amanda Erickson) to help with a kitchen redesign/remodel. Our kitchen was configured in the original layout – circa 1939 – and the space was quite cramped. Amanda steered us through the engineering and contracting phases and even connected us with an interior designer. The outcome has been amazing – the space now supports more than one family member being in the kitchen at once and flows well. Having a kitchen with a workable flow has been so helpful and literally improved our quality of life.
